Used to secure the bottom of the accommodation ladder to the ship’s side and insures the accommodation ladder rests firmly against the ships side. (Requested by the amendments 2000 to the SOLAS regulation, Chapter V, Regulation 23 ‘Pilot Transfer Arrangement’) The arrangement shall be provided to enable the pilot to embark and disembark safely on either side of the ship by an accommodation ladder in conjunction with the pilot ladder, or other equally safe and convenient means, whenever the distance from the surface of the water to the point of access to the ship is more than 9 meters. Can be operated from free supplied deck air at 6 to 7 kgf/cm2, and the unit is made from non ferrous material therefore is resistant to corrosion. Class ABS certified.

Developed to make sure the pilot ladder is stabile for the pilot and can safely board and disembark from the ship. By using two vacuum generated spreaders can always secure the ladder firmly regardless the thickness of the paint on the ship, even if the surface is not smooth and has chipped paint. The required pressure range to this device is 1.4 – 4.0 bar, and has holding force at 715 kg. The device complies with the new SOLAS regulations 1045 (27), and Class Lloyd’s certified.
